John Hendry is joining TimberWest Forest Corp. (TSX:TWF.UN) May 14 in the new position of vice-president of real estate. Most recently, he was VP and general manager of the Gulf County region for the St. Joe Co.

TimberWest is one of the largest owners of private forest lands in Western Canada, on Vancouver Island. Its head office is in Vancouver.

Sur American Gold Corp. (TSXV:SUR) has appointed Derick Sinclair to the position of chief financial officer. He is a CA who was in private practice, and had been a consultant to the company for more than 12 months.

Sinclair replaces Alicia Nicholson, who has resigned as CFO, secretary and a director. Sur is an exploration company with gold, silver and copper-gold projects in the Philippines and Colombia. It recently relocated to new headquarters in downtown Vancouver.

Oromin Explorations Ltd. (TSXV:OLE) has appointed Ian Brown as its CFO. Brown comes with more than 25 years as a financial executive in the mineral exploration industry. Vancouver-based Oromin is a resource company with projects in Senegal, Brazil and Argentina.

Deal Capital Ltd. (TSXV:DCP.P) has engaged Gregory McKelvey as president, CEO and a director.

McKelvey comes with more than 40 years of international experience in the mining sector. Deal is a capital pool company with corporate office in Vancouver.

John Roberts has joined Aurora Energy Resources Inc. (TSX:AXU) as VP for environment. Roberts was previously the director of environment and energy at the Conference Board of Canada.

Aurora is a uranium exploration and development company focused on the Central Mineral Belt in coastal Labrador. Based in Vancouver, Aurora has offices in Postville and Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador; St. John's; and Toronto.

BC Innovation Council has named a new CEO. Matthew Watson comes with more than two decades of high technology leadership and corporate experience.

BC Innovation Council is a provincial Crown agency that supports applied research and commercialization of science and technology to foster economic development.

Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX:PTQ) has elevated Richard Fifer, formerly president of Petaquilla Minerals, S.A., into the company's top roles of president and CEO.

He replaces interim president John Cook, who has been appointed board chairman. Petaquilla Minerals is a Vancouver-based resource company focused on the Petaquilla copper project in Panama.

Xillix Technologies Corp. (TSX: XLX) has appointed David Tonken as CEO and president, and Gregory Matthews as CFO and corporate secretary.

The insolvent Vancouver company, a maker of fluorescent endoscopes, is currently operating under creditor protection. It recently sold its intellectual property and other assets to medical imaging systems developer Novadaq Technologies Inc.

Coastal Contacts Inc. (TSX: COA) has promoted Glen Kayll to CFO. He joined Coastal in late 2006 as VP of international operations.

Kayll replaces Reta Byvelds, who has left to pursue other opportunities. Coastal Contacts is a global vision care supplier based out of Vancouver.

Corex Gold Corp. (TSXV:CGE) has hired Alan Hitchborn as VP of exploration. He comes with more than 28 years of mining industry experience.

Based in Vancouver, Corex is building a portfolio of exploration and development-stage projects.

Paul Marsden has assumed the position of VP of operations for Northland Resources Inc. (TSXV: NAU). Marsden has spent 29 years as a consultant to the mining, and iron and steel industries, most recently with Corus Consulting.

Northland is focused on developing iron, gold and base-metal projects in Sweden and Finland. Its head office is in Vancouver.

Cardero Resource Corp. (TSX:CDU, AMEX:CDY) has appointed Keith Henderson as VP of exploration. He replaces Mark Cruise, who becomes Cardero's VP of business development.

Henderson was most recently project manager for Anglo Coal's Canadian subsidiary.

Larry Talbot has joined Cardero as VP and general counsel. Talbot, a mining lawyer with more than 20 years of experience, has been a director of Cardero since 2003. Vancouver-based Cardero is pursuing gold, copper and iron projects in Mexico, Peru and Argentina.

Las Vegas From Home.com Entertainment Inc. (TSXV:LVH) has appointed David Shore as its CFO. Shore spent the last 10 years in equity research, primarily focused on the technology sector.

Las Vegas From Home.com develops software for the Asian e-gaming industry. Its head office is in Vancouver.

Sanu Resources Ltd. (TSXV:SNU) has appointed Wojtek Wodzicki as president and CEO and as a director.

Wodzicki has worked in the international mining industry since 1987, most recently with Teck Cominco Ltd., and also serves as VP of strategic partnerships for Lundin Mining Corp., Sanu's largest shareholder. Sanu is presently focused on several projects in western Eritrea, and has additional projects in Burkina Faso and Morocco. Its corporate office is in Vancouver.

Kimber Resources Inc. is losing its VP of corporate and investor relations. Darren Klinck, who has accepted a position with an Australian company, will provide informal assistance to his replacement and a new CEO, once they are appointed.

Kimber (TSX:KBR, AMEX:KBX) is a gold and silver company operating in the Sierra Madre of Mexico.

Peak Gold Ltd. (TSXV:PIK) has made two management appointments.

Basil Huxham becomes executive VP and CFO. Huxham, a CA, was formerly the corporate controller of Duke Energy's Canadian operations. Mélanie Pilon becomes VP of investor relations for Peak Gold. Pilon was formerly the director of investor relations for Goldcorp Inc. Peak Gold is an intermediate gold producer with its head office in Vancouver.

Forum Uranium Corp. (TSXV:FDC) has hired Ken Wheatley as VP of exploration. Wheatley has 27 continuous years of uranium exploration experience in Canada, most recently with Areva Resources Canada Inc. as senior and district geologist.

Forum is a Vancouver-based energy company in the business of acquiring and developing uranium projects.
