Alvarez leaving his post as CAPP president

Who's moving on in Alberta

Pierre Alvarez will be leaving after nine years at the helm of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. He will remain president of CAPP until the appointment of his successor and through a transition period. "I've had the chance to participate in the evolution of Canada into a global energy powerhouse. It's been an intensely rewarding experience," he said. CAPP represents 140 member companies that explore for, develop and produce more than 95 per cent of Canada's natural gas, crude oil, oilsands and elemental sulphur. Its offices are in Calgary.

PetroWorth Resources Inc. (CNQ:PTWR) has appointed Christopher Mothersele as VP of operations. Mothersele has more than 33 years of experience in the energy industry, and has been involved with PetroWorth's operations for the last nine months. Based in Calgary, PetroWorth is a junior oil and gas exploration company with extensive onshore properties in Eastern Canada.

Enmax Corp. has hired Giselle Branget as its executive VP of finance and chief financial officer.

She was previously VP, treasurer and chief investment officer for Ontario Power Generation. Branget replaces Kim Hubick, effective June 2. Enmax Corp. provides electricity, natural gas and value-added services to more than half a million customer accounts in Alberta. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary.

Brad Van Den Bussche, VP of exploration, and Eric Allen, VP of operations, have tendered their resignations as officers of Richards Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSXV:RIX). Van Den Bussche's resignation is effective June 1 and Allen's effective June 15. Both are leaving to pursue international opportunities, but will be available to the company on a consulting basis. Richards is a Calgary-based company involved in the development of crude oil and natural gas, with emphasis on coalbed methane.

AltaGas Utility Group Inc. (TSX:AUI) says Jim Leonidas, CFO and corporate secretary, is leaving the Calgary company June 13 to pursue another business opportunity. AUI holds interests in AltaGas Utilities Inc., Heritage Gas Ltd. and Inuvik Gas Ltd., which are regulated natural-gas distribution businesses.

Sahara Energy Ltd. (TSXV:SAH) says Quentin Enns has resigned as its VP of exploration to pursue other business opportunities. Enns will continue to act as a director of Sahara. Based in Calgary, Sahara's core focus is eastern Alberta and western Saskatchewan.

Resin Systems Inc. (TSX:RS), which develops composite material products for infrastructure markets, has made two appointments. Richard Holloway becomes chief technology officer and Howard Elliott COO.

Holloway has been with RS since August 2007 and previously was technical director. Prior to joining RS, Elliott was the president of Asia Pacific business for Park Electrochemical Corp. Resin Systems is headquartered in Calgary.

Jura Energy Corp. (TSX:JEC) says Nigel McCue has stepped down as president and CEO to become chairman of the board, replacing Norman Holton, who will continue as a director. Graham Garner has been appointed interim president and CEO. He has served as executive VP since June 2006. Jura is a Calgary energy company focused on Pakistan.

Sylogist Ltd. (TSXV:SYZ) has appointed chairman Jim Wilson to take on the additional roles of president and CEO. He has served the company in various capacities over the past seven years. Sylogist's core focus is financial, administrative and operational software systems and support for municipal, education and private-sector customers. Its head office is in Calgary.

RepeatSeat Ltd. (TSXV:RPS), an interactive entertainment services company, has had a change in its senior leadership team. George Davidson, president and CEO, has resigned his executive and director positions. Robert Christianson, formerly executive VP and COO, has been appointed president and will retain his COO role. RepeatSeat is headquartered in Calgary, with offices in Toronto and Denver.

Triton Energy Corp. (TSXV:TEZ) has appointed Stephen Irish to the position of VP of land effective June 1. Irish co-founded Greenbank Energy in 2004 where he was VP of land until the company was sold to Rock Energy in 2007. Triton is a Calgary-based company engaged in the exploration, development and production of petroleum and natural gas.

Garth Warner has become acting CEO of Servus Credit Union, taking over day-to-day operations from president and CEO Steve Blakely so that Blakely can focus on the pending merger of Servus, Community Savings and Common Wealth Credit Union on Nov. 1. Blakely will be the president and CEO of the new entity. Most recently Warner was senior VP of operations for Servus, which has branches in 27 Alberta communities and about 900 employees. Its head office is in Edmonton.

Atlas Minerals Inc. (TSXV:AMR) has shuffled its top management "to accommodate the focus on a positive resolution in Ecuador," where Atlas and other miners have been cast into uncertainty by the government's suspension of industry work. Andy Taunton, the head of Atlas's Ecuadorian subsidiary, has been named president and CEO of the corporation, while Barry Herring steps aside but remains a director. CFO Leslie Vickers is being replaced by Nick DeMare, a director of Calgary-based Atlas. Vickers "will consult to the company as necessary.

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa has said that "responsible" mining will be allowed in the South American country, offering assurances that the assembly's move - suspending industry activity for six months - is intended to provide time to pass new mining laws.

Big Rock Brewery Income Trust (TSX:BR.UN) has hired Bill McKenzie as VP of sales at Big Rock Brewery. McKenzie will start on July 2.
Headquartered in Calgary, Big Rock produces premium craft beers.

Quorum Information Technologies Inc. (TSXV:QIS) has engaged Jeff Sharpe as CFO, replacing Colleen Gottselig who resigned her position to relocate to Vancouver Island. Sharpe will work primarily from Quorum's St. John's office. Before joining Quorum, Sharpe was the group chief accountant for Newfound NV. Headquartered in Calgary, Quorum sells and supports a suite of automotive dealership and customer-management software products.
